Every year I make the new years resolution to workout and begin a fit life. Every year I drop the ball. I’ve always believed when you look good you feel good and perform better in the other areas of your life because of it. For me being a size 4 isn’t a goal but looking my best, being toned and turning fat into muscle is my goal. THIS YEAR to obtain that I’ve decided I will start before January 1st with my New Years Resolutions. Getting fit and eating healthy is always #1 on my list so I began December 12th. The amazing women at ClassPass gave me a complimentary pass for 30 days which I’ve renewed.

So I set out on the beginning of my new life with several different classes. Over the next 2 weeks I’ll be chronicling my favorite 4 classes. It all begin with Shred415…

SHRED415
I signed up for Shred415 and selected the Butt & Legs class in Lincoln Park. My instructor was Lyndsey and I took a 7 am class. I knew nothing about the class or how it works. I figured it’d be a cool class. Little did I know! This wasn’t a relaxed class but 2 classes in one. Half the class is on treadmills, half on the floor doing various exercises and in intervals of 15, 10 and 5 they switch. Literally don’t know how I kept up but I did. I loved this class because it was challenging. This was the hardest class I’ve ever done but well worth it. I’m sure I burned a lot of calories. Lyndsey was so nice and all the people here were so nice and welcoming. I’ve found throughout this process that when you go to a new class not everyone will thrilled a newbie is there. At Shred415 this WAS NOT the case. Everyone was sweet. Another thing I noticed in this class was the diversity in age. There were women in this class 40+ who were amazing. They’re body was insanely in shape and they were just mastering this class. I’m a little scared to go back here but I will be doing this class 3 times a month.

Barre Code
I’ve been to Barre Code once before I had a ClassPass with a friend who religiously goes 5 times a week. I have attended the Barre Class on Michigan Avenue and every time I go it’s amazing. The girls at the desk are always sweet and I only go to 7 am classes. I’ve taken 2 classes here Brawl and Barre Code. I like both but my favorite was Barre Code because it was more challenging then Brawl and I felt extremely sore. It felt as if every muscle in my body had been worked out. I’ve been to a Pure Barre class and for me Barre Code is a better fit. It’s easier to do yet still challenging. This class is easy to follow and keep up with.

Join ClassPass here and avoid the waitlist.

Stay tuned for Part 2 next week…
