It’s been weeks of 90 degree weather and I’m f*%^ing miserable. I. Am. Ready. For. Fall. I began about 6 weeks ago anticipating my fall transition. “What is a fall transition?” you say. Well that’s when you transition into your fall look, style, and just complete fall badassness. Now it may seem like July was early to start planning but these things take time! I mean in order for me to be all “I woke up like this” I have to plan. Haha! I don’t know about you but summer leaves me in something similar to shambles. I’ gained 10 lbs. because I live in Chicago and want to eat every thing every where so I’m currently on a diet. My skin is just ugh and I’m sweating every time I leave anywhere. I was having my eyebrows done and the woman says “Your sweating a lot.” I should have been embarrassed but honestly I was annoyed. Most Chicagoans love summer because it danes to make an appearance for a few months. I personally think summer is a stingy b*tch. She comes when she wants and then makes us miserable then leaves us missing her. But oh Fall! You glorious epic doll! Fall comes bringing a breeze saying, “Layers on or off your choice. Sweat? Don’t worry about it you’re skin is about to flourish. I’m here to grace you with my presence and bring happiness to your existence.” Obviously I love fall. & yes my friend my fall look is planned.
1st Order of Business: HAIR!
Anytime I see a hairdo I like I screenshot or take a picture. If you’re reading this you know by now I’m a black girl. I know? Shocker! haha. I believe in changing my hair up. So I’ve decided to go shoulder length for the fall. I’m taking my cues from Gabrielle Union & Frankie from the group The Saturdays.
When I saw Gabrielle at the Met Gala I knew I was getting this hairstyle for the fall. The long wavy bob, the contour, the lip! Everything about this gave me life. I knew I needed this look and this is what my fall hair will be based upon. I’ve always loved Frankie’s style and have been inspired by many of her looks. I like the way color is incorporated and the bang. I live for a bang and love a little blonde.
2nd: Beauty & Body
I’ve been looking in my makeup bag and it’s feeling really BLAH! My A.J. Crimson creme foundation is all used up so a few ago I cleaned out my bag and threw away some things I didn’t need. After an interview I did with Catalina Su a few weeks ago [I’ll be posting soon] I have decided to do less makeup! I wasn’t doing much but if I can do less I will. So I’m going to update my lips, obviously get a foundation for the times when I have to glam it up and update my eye game. Overall I’m going back to just taking care of my skin even more and adding a toner which I haven’t had in years! More on this later…
My body and face can use a little extra TLC. So I’ve planned to get a professional facial and a Korean body scrub. I’ve put it off for about a month because I’ve gotten busy with life and it’s still super hot. I’ve heard amazing things and I’m extremely excited about the Korean Body Scrub. Professional facials can be costly so I usually do a mask and Clarisonic with Cetaphil twice daily but every so often I try to get a facial.
3rd: Style
A woman’s sexuality is her own so weather your clothes are skin tight or baggy it’s about confidence and the way you carry yourself. As I’ve gotten older I’ve embraced being curvy, muscular and having a large bust. I want to flaunt that more so my fall style will be a bit sexier with more fitted pieces.
This week I begin my transition and the first order of business is my hair. Follow me on Instagram to see it first.
