Whew! August FLEW by and I find myself near the end of September already. Over the last several months I’ve taken a detour from my 2020 goals. This month I’m doing a hard reset on my habits, and routines.
Food & Fitness
My eating habits have been pretty solid but during quarantine, I’ve tiptoed back into some of my biggest vices. I love sweets, steak, bacon, and cocktails. I’ve truly been indulging in them but going forward for the next 6 months I’ll be limiting red meat, sugar, and alcohol. I’ll now be increasing my veggie and seafood intake. I don’t like a lot of fruit but I’ll add in oranges and grapefruits. I may have a fibroid issue, so my plan is to change my diet before taking medicine. I was also intermitting fasting for a bit. Throughout quarantine/working from home, I created the bad habit of eating late. Intermittent fasting has helped with that. Now don’t eat past 730 most nights. My eating habits aren’t anywhere near what they use to be so I’m grateful. The recipes I share here won’t be affected. I have so much variety and so many I’ve wanted to share with you all. They’re coming!
As for working out, major fail for me right now. I haven’t worked out for months. I feel like I want to and that’s something I’ve rarely said. My gym has very limited hours and my normal routine isn’t a possibility. The gym in my building is also not happening because I don’t like it. I’m going back to working out at home 3 to 4 times a week. This is my goal for the rest of the year. I’m excited to get back to a consistent workout routine. I think this will give me more energy.
Budget & Sanity
I have been super SPENDY! I’ve been saying for weeks on my Instagram stories that I’m going on a spending freeze. I’m reacquainting myself with my budget and readjusting & refocusing on my financial goals. I have a lot of new clothes, accessories, a new makeup vanity, and a gallery wall. Now the cutting back begins. I have many financial and personal goals that I’ll be focusing on. I’ll share them later because they’re long term.
I’m trying to cope with the state of things by staying busy. DIY projects, shopping, content creation, and everything else has allowed me some sanity. I am going back to my gratitude practice. It brings me so much peace and really sets the mood for my day. Working towards a goal helps me. I encourage everyone to do what brings them some peace and happiness during these perilous times.
